On August 1, 2016 I filed a freedom of information Act (FOIA) request with the FBI asking for all files relating to Seymour Papert.
Here is the text of my request.
Requester:
Kevin Savetz
[contact info redacted]
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
I am requesting any and all files relating to mathematician Seymour Papert.
He died in July 2016. Proof of Mr. Papert’s death is here attached as a PDF (source is http://news.mit.edu/2016/seymour-papert-pioneer-of-constructionist-learning-dies-0801 )
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at archive.org. Mr. Papert’s life is of great interest from a historical perspective.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request be filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you for your time.
